Why Missions

My heart for missions didn't start in a classroom; it began with the simple joy of babysitting and a hammer on a dusty worksite in Mexico. Learning to build houses for families taught me that the Gospel is often best shared through our hands before it is ever heard through our words. From those early days of caring for small children to leading VBS programs and helping provide clean water, food, and better living conditions, I realized that meeting people's basic needs is a beautiful way to show them the love of Jesus. Whether I was serving in the streets of Spain, working in El Salvador, or volunteering at the local resource center at Pure Heart Church, I saw the same universal truth: people everywhere are searching for a hope that can only be found in Christ.

As my own faith has deepened, so has the conviction that I cannot keep the story of my salvation to myself. I serve a God who rescued me and meets every person exactly where they are—whether they are a child in need of a meal or an adult seeking purpose. But I’ve realized that, for many, hearing that message, someone has to be willing to actually go where they are. This year, that calling is taking me to Mexico, Belize, and throughout Asia, with intensive YWAM training starting in August. I am stepping out in faith because the message of hope is too good to stay home; I want to be the hands and feet of Jesus in every corner of the globe.
